Demon-Beast Cocytus

The coloured version of my preliminary sketch of Cocytus, one of the more powerful of Meir's Hell's minions (too many possessives? Too bad!). He's basically one of a circle of four or five, all of which have counterparts on the... um, angelic? side. It's still fuzzy cos' I'm still trying to re-clarify all the details (it's been years and years since I worked on the worldbuilding for Meir).

Anyway, Cocytus has one arm and one wing, both of which are tattooed extensively. He can use the tattoos (and in the case of his left side, the engravings on his horn) to create the missing limb on the appropriate side (so the tattoos on his right side can be used to make an invisible tattooed arm, and vice verse). It's incredibly nifty-looking in my head, I just haven't gotten it all down yet. I'll get it eventually.

Colour scheme is temporary (haven't decided what works best for him yet), quickie Photoshop over a (non-visible) pencil sketch. Cocytus and Meir are from my ongoing (if rarely updated) webcomic/multi-platform story adventure, Bowspirit's Aim.
