As I mentioned the last time I uploaded Hatoful Boyfriend charms
, I'm of the firm belief that if you're going to play a dating sim whose main premise is that you're dating birds
, you should be focusing on the birds
and not their gijinkas/human stand-ins/whatever you'd like to call them.
Nevertheless, mentioned in the pre-story introduction in both versions of Hatoful Boyfriend is the ICPSS—Intra-Cerebral Playback Synchro System—which offers players who may not be avian-inclined the ability to display a "humanized" portrait of "even the birdiest of birds." The ICPSS portraits actually only show up in-game for the eight date-able birds and not any of the NPCs (though most of them have had human versions designed), but as that's where most of the fandom's amorous attentions are located, that seems more than sufficient.
From left to right: Higure Anghel (available only in the full version), Kazuaki Nanaki, Fujishiro Nageki, Sakuya Le Bel Shirogane, Sakazaki Yuuya, and Iwamine Shuu. Not pictured are Okosan and Kawara Ryouta; Okosan's ICPSS portrait is surprisingly similar to his non-ICPSS portrait, and I have to admit I just flat-out forgot that I didn't have Ryouta made while I was waiting for access to a good camera, haha. Everybirdie is about an inch and a half tall, and made of Sculpey and wire, painted with acrylic paints and sealed/glazed with a glossy varnish. All six are currently available in my shop
